Hi! My Name is Amy Abbasov. I am an LPC with a national license issued by the state of Texas and I have an M.Ed. in counseling. I have 9 years of counseling experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, family conflicts, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, social behavior, and crisis counseling.
I am experienced in many counseling techniques and find myself to have an open minded compassionate approach. My counseling style and approach is Holistic/Integrative. The first few sessions start out with a person-centered therapy approach. It is important to establish a trusting, ethical, therapeutic relationship by form of congruence, unconditional positive regard, and empathy in the beginning. Sometimes a person-centered approach leads the client to discover the answers for themselves. However, the information collected in the first few sessions may lead to a better suited theory. I feel that issues like depression or anxiety can be helped with cognitive behavioral therapy. CBT has also been great when working with adolescents who struggle with aggression and conduct disorders. I find dialectical behavior therapy techniques to be useful in a counseling setting as well. My counseling style and approach really depends on the client and what best fits the situation. Person-centered therapy, CBT, and DBT have been my main approach and style.
Whether you are seeking change for a healthier happier life, or just need a non judgmental ear to listen, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Amy makes talking to a counselor a breeze! She is easy to talk to, has great patience, and is adaptive. Amy has good insight and guidance. I believe finding the right counselor can be challenging. She IS the right person to work with and I highly recommend you contact Amy .
Amy has been everything I was hoping therapy would be and more. I was terrified to start therapy but Amy's easygoing attitude has helped me open up and push through hard feelings. She helps me stay confident, focused, and true to myself. I am forever changed because of the help I am receiving from Amy. I highly recommend her if you are seeking more understanding of your feelings and difficult events you have been through, big or small. Amy's guidance has been a true blessing in my life.
She is a Godsend. I don’t make this statement lightly. She is attentive, encouraging, non-judgmental and one of the easiest counselors that I have ever had the privilege of working with. I would 100% recommend Amy Abbasov.
Amy made me feel comfortable immediately like I was talking to an old friend. She does a better job of remembering what we talked about the previous week than I do!
I absolutely love Amy...she is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone.
This was my first time doing any type of therapy or counseling. I was a nervous wreck and super anxious about the first time I talked to her. Amy was so warm-hearted, open and fun to talk to as well! She made me feel super comfortable, kind of like talking to an old friend. She does a perfect job of balancing listening to me, being supportive and offering me advice and tips. She's awesome and I can't wait to continue my journey with her!!
So easy to speak with.
I was sooo nervous talking to a stranger about a problem I never dealt with before. I was afraid to he judged or just another part of a paycheck but NO. Amy is extremely supportive very easy to talk to. I appreciate her so much
Amy immediately made me feel comfortable - like I could share anything. She listened to my needs and we are already working through many of my concerns. It's nice to have someone that listens without judgement and works with my schedule.
