"Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." - anonymous
We all fall down from time to time. It takes courage to seek help and support during those times when we have difficulty getting back up. I commend you for taking the first step.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in California. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and have been working in this field for over 12 years. I initially made this career choice because I wanted to learn how to help myself and my family. I discovered I had a real passion and talent for connecting with and understanding others.
I am currently working with military service members and their families. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, anger management, communication difficulties and parenting. I also have experience working with trauma and abuse.
My counseling style is very warm and empathetic. I believe in treating everyone with respect and being non-judgmental. I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic modalities, with a focus on unconditional positive regard. I will work with you to identify your strengths and tailor treatment to meet your specific needs.
Additional areas of focus: Addictions, LGBT, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Bipolar disorder, Depression

I am grateful for Amy… I started counseling at 49 years old and never thought I “needed counseling” but I’ve have learned so much about myself thanks to Amy‘s guidance. I am a strong woman and I have never felt like I needed to share my business with anyone because for the most part I had it together. I was raised that counseling was for people who had something wrong with them and people who were mentally strong didn’t need counseling. Absolutely ridiculous because I found out so much about myself since I’ve gone to counseling. Now I am raising daughters who understand the importance of taking care of your mental health.
I think betterhelp is a great way for people to get started into counseling whether you are either intimidated, too prideful or like me too busy to do counseling. This is life changing...even if you think you don’t need it I say just do it so you can learn about yourself and live your better life.

Amy truly has a gift of counseling! She is extremely empathetic and understanding, and yet has a way of getting straight to the heart of things. She is so insightful and understands my issues right away, and clarifies and reframes them in a way that allows me to move forward. She is no-nonsense and gives practical, real life advice that I can implement right away. Her counseling has truly helped me with so many challenging relationships, and I would recommend her to anyone! Thank you Amy!
