My name is Amy Bichsel Pacheco Piña (she/her) and I am a Master's Level Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS).
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2008 and began working in a community mental health center with individual who were struggling with an array of concerns like depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, adjustment, addiction, just to name a few.
My therapy approach is client centered in that I do have ideas of how we can begin to work together to help you feel better, but I meet you where you are. I strongly believe that our thoughts impact our feelings/behaviors and ultimately our actions. Sometimes it is easy to identify and sometimes these are more deeply rooted which sometimes can create symptoms and issues in areas of your life that are important to you and those you love. But don't worry, I am going to walk with you every step of the way. We will figure this out together.
I am originally from Nebraska but currently living outside of Memphis, TN. I am a mom to a busy 10 year old and two rambunctious dogs! I enjoy reading, meditation, learning new things, and walking outdoors.

I knew after my first session that Amy was the perfect choice in a therapist for me. I truly feel heard and seen. She is very engaging and understanding. She breaks things down in a way that I really understand what's going on inside my head. I am still new in my therapy journey but she has already made such a difference. I find myself looking forward to our sessions!

Amy has been so great so far. We have been working together for the past couple of months. I went through a very traumatic experience back in May and could not have gotten through it without her. I recommend her to anyone and everyone. She has been an absolute blessing to me and has given me the tools to get through hard times. ❤️

I am so thankful for Amy, she gives me an unconditionally supportive listening ear through my ups and down as a college student. Since meeting with Amy my anxiety and coping mechanisms for panic attacks are in the best place they have ever been. Amy is always flexible with me and is such a light in my crazy busy weeks as a student. It is so awesome to be able to contact her via chat throughout the week for support as well.

Amy was my first and only therapist match on BetterHelp. She has been a bright spot in a very challenging season for me. I really appreciate her constantly holding space for me to process my moment, knowing just when to interject a question that helps me reflect further, an encouragement, a bit of technical insight from the professional field or let me take the lead and decide when I’ve explored a topic sufficiently for that session. She really is the perfect match for me. Thanks, Amy!!

I would recommend Amy to anyone. She’s such a good listener. I’ve been in therapy a month now and the methods and ways she’s helped me in such a short time has been amazing. I told her my goals for therapy and she’s doing that plus more. I can’t wait to work with her long term and see how I’m doing in a year. I’m really glad I chose her to be my therapist and if you’re considering her don’t think twice she’s the one for you too.

Amy has been completely amazing in helping me dealing with one of the hardest seasons I've had to go through. We talked about everything from grief of suddenly losing a family member, to new jobs, to money stressors, to parenting guilt, to past traumas, and so much more. I felt completely heard and supported. She is compassionate, down to earth, and reaffirming, and gave great, easy-to-implement strategies for when I feel overwhelmed.
