About Me
You have taken the courageous first step to feeling better! I am so grateful you are here. BetterHelp is for individuals, 18 years and older. My name is Amy Bichsel Pacheco Piña and I am a Master's Level Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS).
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2008 and began working in a community mental health center with individual who were struggling with an array of concerns like depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, adjustment, addiction, just to name a few.
My therapy approach is client centered in that I do have ideas of how we can begin to work together to help you feel better, but I meet you where you are. I strongly believe that our thoughts impact our feelings/behaviors and ultimately our actions. Sometimes it is easy to identify and sometimes these are more deeply rooted which sometimes can create symptoms and issues in areas of your life that are important to you and those you love. But don't worry, I am going to walk with you every step of the way. We will figure this out together.
I am originally from Nebraska and am a mom to a busy 9 year old and two rambunctious dogs! I enjoy reading, meditation, learning new things, and walking outdoors.

I would recommend Amy to anyone. She’s such a good listener. I’ve been in therapy a month now and the methods and ways she’s helped me in such a short time has been amazing. I told her my goals for therapy and she’s doing that plus more. I can’t wait to work with her long term and see how I’m doing in a year. I’m really glad I chose her to be my therapist and if you’re considering her don’t think twice she’s the one for you too.
Wonderfully approachable person with a calming manner. Very easy to talk to.
Amy is very kind, considerate and just all around down to earth. Just knowing someone is there has been a great relief for me!
She’s been fabulous especially with my crazy schedule!!
Amy has been completely amazing in helping me dealing with one of the hardest seasons I've had to go through. We talked about everything from grief of suddenly losing a family member, to new jobs, to money stressors, to parenting guilt, to past traumas, and so much more. I felt completely heard and supported. She is compassionate, down to earth, and reaffirming, and gave great, easy-to-implement strategies for when I feel overwhelmed.
She is amazing. She’s such a good listener, and is patient with me when strategies to help aren’t as useful as they could be. I would 10/10 recommend her.
She is very knowledgeable and makes me feel comfortable and confident in what I am feeling.

I haven't been doing counseling for very long but so far she has helped me a bunch!
Amy has really taken the time to understand me and my feelings. She has truly engaged in listening to my voice, and helping me understand the way I feel, and also suggests multiple ways for me to process thoughts and feelings. I feel I was matched with the perfect counselor - thank you so much!
