About me

You have taken the courageous first step to feeling better! I am so grateful you are here. BetterHelp is for individuals, 18 years and older. My name is Amy Bichsel Pacheco Piña (she/her) and I am a Master's Level Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS).
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2008 and began working in a community mental health center with individual who were struggling with an array of concerns like depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, adjustment, addiction, just to name a few.

My therapy approach is client centered in that I do have ideas of how we can begin to work together to help you feel better, but I meet you where you are. I strongly believe that our thoughts impact our feelings/behaviors and ultimately our actions. Sometimes it is easy to identify and sometimes these are more deeply rooted which sometimes can create symptoms and issues in areas of your life that are important to you and those you love. But don't worry, I am going to walk with you every step of the way. We will figure this out together.
I am originally from Nebraska but currently living outside of Memphis, TN. I am a mom to a busy 10 year old and two rambunctious dogs! I enjoy reading, meditation, learning new things, and walking outdoors.

I knew after my first session that Amy was the perfect choice in a therapist for me. I truly feel heard and seen. She is very engaging and understanding. She breaks things down in a way that I really understand what's going on inside my head. I am still new in my therapy journey but she has already made such a difference. I find myself looking forward to our sessions!

Amy has been so great so far. We have been working together for the past couple of months. I went through a very traumatic experience back in May and could not have gotten through it without her. I recommend her to anyone and everyone. She has been an absolute blessing to me and has given me the tools to get through hard times. ❤️
