About Me

Hello! Thank you for visiting my site. It takes courage and strength to reach out and ask for help. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Counselor, licensed in the state of Illinois. I have been helping people for over 7 years to work through their anxiety, depression, communication issues, and other related issues. I have also helped parents be the best parents that they can be and work through family issues, and helped many people increase their self-esteem and confidence.

My husband was Active Duty Air Force for 25 years, so I have experience being a military spouse and what military life, stateside and overseas, entails. I graduated from Liberty University in Virginia and my basis for counseling is my Christianity. I believe in treating the whole person and our spirituality is a part of doing that. I also use Cognitive Behavioral techniques along with mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy, but I can contour the sessions to what works best for you and what will help you the most. I feel that my "job" is to help you be the best you, with no judgment but only with love and respect.

Again, I believe that it takes a lot of courage and strength to admit that you need help and I look forward to helping you grow into the person that you want to be.

I was nervous to start therapy and share my story, but it's one of the best things I've done for myself and I'm so thankful I got to work with Amy, she made it something to look forward to! She has given me amazing advice, such good tools to use and the confidence to change my life. She is SUCH a kind person and an amazing listener! She helped me in more ways than I anticipated and my life has drastically improved since working with her. I'm forever grateful for her help! :)

Amy is really cool. She’s nice and doesn’t judge. She always gives really helpful advice. I’m really thankful to her. We’ve only had a couple of sessions but I already feel like I’ve come a long way.

I was very nervous about seeking counselling, and have always been told I’d probably go through a few different counsellors until I found the right match. I must have been extremely lucky to find Amy right away, as I am so happy with the support and guidance she’s provided already! She is patient with me, guides me to make my own realizations/conclusions, and has absolutely created a safe space where I don’t feel judged or guilty for over sharing. I cannot recommend her enough!
