About me

Your decision to give therapy a try is a very big decision; you have to make sure that you find the right counselor to work and achieve your goals. I want to let you know a little about myself to help you decide if we would be a good fit. I have been working in mental health since 2012. I’ve worked with clients of all ages who were facing challenges with varying stressors like depression, anxiety, anger, ADHD, trauma/complex trauma, separation/divorce, grief, and other mood disorders.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, I take an eclectic approach to therapy utilizing my education and 8 1/2 years of experiences to offer a caring, non-judgmental, individualized approach to each and every client. I partner with clients to achieve mental, emotional and relational health building on the strengths already present in their lives. Humor and a down-to-earth approach are used to build a supportive environment where you can learn to manage stress and emotions to create a balance in your life.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, Live the life you imagine, Thoreau.” We all deserve to reach our fullest potential, sometimes life can be overwhelming and deciding to make that first step to change or heal takes courage, hope, and determination. I look forward walking alongside you in this part of your journey.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Amy Thomas. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have learned a lot of helpful hints for better communication with others and establishing stronger boundaries for myself. I know I can’t “fix” other people, only myself. Better communication and less anger is healthier and helps solve issues more effectively.
