About me

I started my counseling career in the residential setting working with at-risk youth. Since then, I have worked in community, educational, and Christian counseling settings.

While I make sure that I use the best treatment approach for my clients, I tend to lean towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. When a client reaches out for therapy, I want to make sure that I can help them find relief from their stressors as quickly as possible. I feel that these counseling techniques lend themselves to these desired results. I truly enjoy watching clients transform into more confident individuals as they learn different ways to approach whatever they might encounter as they travel down their life's journey.

Amy is great! She really listens to me and offers me insight and different ways of looking at and approaching my problems/concerns. She is kind, understanding, very knowledgeable and helpful. She has even contacted me between sessions to ask how things are going. Lovely lady!

I am learning a lot about myself and my relationship through my visits with Amy. I look forward to my visits with her each week. I know I will only get better insight into my thoughts and behaviors as I go forward with her. I appreciate her knowledge and help immensely.

Amy was able to meet me where I was at, and has been great with realistic approaches to challenges I've brought to her during sessions. The validation around being able to "have ADHD" without being diagnosed was also pivotal in how I manage my time, energy, and focus in hopes of finding a healthy balance between caregiver, work, and teaching. Amy is easy to talk to, and is very responsive when mid-week issues arise.
