About me

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with a wide range of experience and expertise. I welcome clients who are struggling with relationships, anxiety, depression, life adjustments and transitions, and recovery-related issues. Sessions are very much client-led, meaning that you determine the goals and the direction of our sessions. I believe that clients usually hold the solutions to their identified problems; they simply need help to recognize behavior patterns or themes in their lives in order to take the necessary steps for growth, change, and improved lives. That's my role: to assist with an outside perspective in order to challenge and modify beliefs and thought patterns for improved outcomes.
I believe that all individuals have the ability to grow and change. This belief is the foundation from which I encourage my clients to process, explore, and make lasting changes in order to live their best lives. The truth is, we're all just doing the best we know to do; the challenge is to embrace new perspectives and approaches as we strive to do better.
I have several years of experience working with adults and families in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings. I utilize a strengths-based approach with an emphasis in CBT and Solution-Focused counseling, recovery-related counseling and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have a special interest in personality and adjustment disorders.

I'm very pleased with the insightfulness Amy brings to our sessions. Our time together is a treasure that I value immensely. She has a God-given gift of relating ideas and graceful corrections that bring about change...if willing to listen. It truly feels like I'm sitting down and talking to a dear friend. I know that I am free to express myself unabashedly.
