Amy Warren, LMSW
About me
I am a Licensed Social Worker based in New York City. I received my Masters in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work and I am currently working at a large non-profit mental health agency in NYC providing psycho-social counseling to individuals and groups.
I have a strong background in grief counseling and I have worked with chronically ill clients, unemployment issues, as well as clients facing addiction and recovery.
I believe that all forms of loss (death, divorce, sobriety, unemployment) warrant some form of grieving and special attention. I believe grief transcends and can change on a daily or hourly basis. I also believe that any major loss in one's life can trigger underlying mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and addictions. I like to meet the client where they're at in each session and touch on each individual's strengths to overcome their difficult emotions and behaviors to live a happier and healthier life.
Together, we can develop strategies for feeling better. You are the expert on your life, and I can help you identify strengths, resources, and learn effective approaches and techniques to get un-stuck, feel better, and move toward enjoying your life.
