About me

I am licensed in Maryland and a National Certified Counselor with over four years of cumulative professional work experience with children, teens, families, and substance abuse and addiction counseling. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, substance abuse, depression, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling life with inner peace and to take the first steps toward change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

My counseling approach is integrative, and I focus on your needs and work with you to create the best treatment plan to assist you with living your best life. The treatment modalities I use are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Motivational Interviewing. I will incorporate a mindfulness-based somatic approach with self-compassion, attachment theory, inner child work, and polyvagal theory to provide psychoeducation and treatment modalities that create a deeper understanding and healing.

Along with my M.Ed. from Frostburg State University, I am certified as a Health Coach through the International Association of Health Coaches. I am also certified in Trauma Conscious Yoga Method, which incorporates somatic and mindfulness techniques. In addition, I completed my post-graduate certification from Saybrook University in Mind-Body Medicine.

I already had 2 sessions with her and I think we are a great match. She is very supportive, understanding and a great listener. What I love most about her is her intelligence and ability to educate me on how the systems work in my body. Definetly would recommend her to anyone who wants someone kind and supportive to talk to!

Amy is a natural listener, with an amazing ability to pull out seemingly minor conversational details that are critical to self-help and self-awareness. She is very open, and non-judgemental...creating a safe space to share, connect, and heal.

I knew I was going to love having Amy as my therapist as soon as she said “let’s get you back to your empowered self” and it gave me goosebumps. She listens and the tips she gives are great, I’ve never once felt judged either.
