Greetings, Courageous Soul!
You are brave, indeed, to have identified a problematic issue/issues in your life, and then seek assistance to make changes that will move you toward the person you want to be. My name is Andi, and it is an honor to be considered as a potential partner on your journey.
I am an Arizona-based, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 11 years’ experience working with trauma, substance abuse, and addiction. Often, co-occurring issues include: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bi-polar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive behaviors, and, of course, relationship challenges.
My experience includes individual and group therapy in residential and outpatient settings of a Community Mental Health Center and a private addiction treatment facility. I would describe my approach to therapy as eclectic, drawing on a variety of modalities to best serve a client’s needs and goals. The modalities that have proven most useful are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, Existential Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Eco Psychology, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also have a strong belief in the healing power of Nature.
Frequently, there is no “mental health” issue. An individual may just need skills to move through a “life transition,” clarify life goals, and prioritize steps for reaching those goals. This is more of a coaching situation, and I am also a Certified DreamBuilder Coach and Certified Life Mastery Consultant.
Finally, I view the therapeutic alliance as a partnership requiring mutual trust, respect, honesty, communication, and commitment to do the work. Hopefully, what I have shared here will help you select the best fit for a therapist. Should you select me, I look forward to our journey together.

Andrea Abad has shown and given great patience and care in helping guide me into understanding what the true challenges are that I need to address.
Andrea took the time and sent me simple worksheets to assist me in having progress . Andrea did this, as she took into account my challenges with ADHD and that I would be challenged ,in taking the time and give attention to read a book she strongly recommended. I looked up the book and it would be a perfect choice to address my Codependency. The worksheets Andrea sent me , helped me more than I thought they would. I tend to believe that I am able to fix myself .Andrea was able to breakthrough my stubbornness and with her kindness, enlightened me that maybe , I do not know everything. I have learned so much from Andrea and I look forward to having great success with overcoming my challenges with her support .
I highly recommend to see Andrea If you have reservations about therapy.
