About me

Hello! My name is Andrea and I am a LCSW in Connecticut, with 28 + years, working as a therapist and counselor. I am highly experienced working with people of all ages and stages; children, adolescents and adults & seniors/ families and couples in direct practice, within the community or via Telehealth. Those coping with a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, ASD, ADD/ADHD, developmental, attachment and behavioral disorders and life stage adjustments; co-occurring mental health and substance abuse and eating disorders as well as memory and brain disorders.

I have facilitated healing primarily within an internal-family systems perspective/model and a focus on mindfulness and whole body wellness and healing. I am trained in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and EMDR, to name a few modalities. However, I tailor our dialogue and your treatment plan to your specific goals and needs.
My style is always warm, funny, compassionate, empathetic and interactive. I believe it takes a great deal of courage to embark on a therapeutic relationship, and it is my honor to be the one to sit across from you as you share your story; your needs, hopes and goals, as I help to problem solve with you and break barriers that may be causing you to feel stuck. I treat everyone I meet with dignity, respect, sensitivity and we typically begin the therapeutic process where you are. Therapy is a process in which I am able to provide a safe and nurturing place for you to explore your feelings and thoughts without judgment or expectations. It is my sincerest hope to support you to dig deep and discover the most authentic version of yourself.

I really look forward to working with you!

Andrea is amazing, she truly understands me and listens without judgement. I feel like she both encourages me to love myself as I am while also helping me work on things that are important to me.

With only a couple sessions I feel heard and understood. She gets dynamics and undertones of what I'm describing so well and I can tell she has a wide range of experience. Talking with her is soothing, it doesn't even feel like you're talking to a therapist, it's just like talking to a very supportive friend.

Andrea has been an amazing help. She's very easy to talk to and can relate to all of my issues. She allows me to be frank and open and has several new ideas on how to improve my situation each time we speak.

Caring and knowledgeable. Finds ways to keep me engaged instead of allowing me to turtle. Actually helps find the roots of my issues instead of staring at the clock and collecting a check like some in person therapists I've had in the past.

Just love her

I very much appreciate my sessions with Andrea. While she is pushing me, and they aren't always enjoyable!, I do feel they are making a difference in my anxiety and co-dependence as it relates to my relationship. She is flexible in terms of appointment schedules and is very present for the entire appointment, sometimes even going over if it seems important. Highly recommend.
