About Me

Andrea Shipley is an explorer of the external world as well as the internal world of consciousness. After years of self-healing and spiritual study, she began her healing career as a Massage Therapist in 2008. She soon came to understand that the physical ailments she was treating often stem from mental and spiritual factors, as well as the body, so she wanted to have a more holistic impact for her clients. This understanding led her to John F. Kennedy University to earn her Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Psychology and she has since become a Licensed Professional Counselor, also providing Life Coaching in her private practice, Soul Explorations, LLC. Andrea’s Transpersonal practice is strongly influenced by Mindfulness, Expressive Arts, and Shamanism because she’s found that these holistic modalities help guide the individual to wake up from the limited self, which may be experiencing unbearable pain. The Transpersonal approach aims to help the client understand oneself “beyond the personality,” which Andrea has experienced to be paramount for the growth and healing of many people.

Andrea is an exceptional counselor. She’s extremely thoughtful and bright, communicates ideas and tools in an effective manner, is always responsive, very patient and flexible with my schedule, and is all around a blessing to my life. I’ve made so much progress with my mental health and approaches to day to day life since beginning with her. I’d recommend her to anyone. She is a light.

Andrea is a fantastic counselor who has helped me develop and fine tune methods that I can use in stressful situations. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my ability to recognize and process my limits and have felt much calmer overall since beginning my sessions with Andrea. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for counseling, and I frequently recommend BetterHelp to friends.

I haven't worked with Andrea for long but in the short time I've worked with her she's been helpful, understanding, and conscientious. When she hasn't heard from me, she'll check in. She gave me some mindfulness exercises to help me control emotional issues.

Andrea is amazing. She is very warm, patient and accommodating. When she has not heard from me she even checks up on me. I can tell she is very passionate about what she does and I am very confident in her abilities as a therapist. Her approach is innovative and I look forward to more sessions with her!
