About Me
I always wonder about these profiles. What kind of information helps a person decide on a therapist?
It seems like some people look for information about me. For these folks, I'd mention that I'm a father of two school-aged boys and have been married for 10+ years. I have a history of substance abuse, and have learned to live with ADHD. I have family members suffering with mental illness and grew up learning to deal with it. I love video games, gardening, cooking, woodworking, and talking about philosophy and life more broadly. You can probably tell that I'm a bit of a geek.
Other people might want information about my professional life. I've been a Master of Social Work for over 10 years now. Working in mental health basically the entire time, and also some time before that as well. I've worked in every level of care, inpatient to outpatient. No diagnosis scares me, and I've really seen just about everything there is to see. I specialize in CBT and Exposure Therapy (ERP). I'm also quite skilled with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Activation (BA), and Motivational Interviewing. I taught at Loyola University Chicago's satellite location here in Wisconsin as an adjunct professor teaching the above therapies to the next generation of therapists, and have presented at professional conferences on ethics.
Whatever it is you're looking for, I'm interested in getting to know you more. I love getting to know people and helping them to work through problems. This is why I chose my profession. Why not reach out and let me know what questions you have, I'd be happy to answer them.

Andrew has completely changed my life. He helped me through traumatic events that devoured years of my life before he taught me the skills to combat those thoughts and that trauma. I can’t thank Andrew enough for all the work he did.
I have found value in even the first couple of sessions that I’ve had with Andrew. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.
Andrew takes the time to understand what my concerns are and makes sure we focus on addressing them. He also gives some great perspective on trying to understand thoughts and where emotional responses come from.
Andrew is an amazing therapist. He genuinely cares about your wellbeing and is there to help anyway he can. I felt comfortable with him from the start and he was able to get me to realize a lot of new things about myself. Each session with him is very helpful and he cares enough to check in throughout the week to see how goals/action plans are coming along. Would definitely recommend and I'm so glad I was paired with him!
Andrew is phenomenal at addressing what problems to address and has exceeded my expectations of what I though the better help experience would be prior to starting. 10/10 would recommend him, and BetterHelp to anyone who is struggling.
