About me

My counselling and psychotherapy service can help and support you on your journey exploring the issues that are impacting your mental health, and the ability to lead a fulfilled life.

I understand the complex nature of emotional distress and can offer a safe and confidential, non-judgement talking space for you to re-discover your internal strength and resilience to cope, recover, and find your way back to peace of mind.

I offer an integrative approach offering a blend of person-centered, psychodynamic, solution focused and CBT therapies.

Our time together can be about one specific issue and may only last 6-12 weeks. Or if the issue is more complex we may be working together over a longer period of time.

Counselling is a therapeutic relationship at its core, and having a strong relationship between us is key for the counselling process to work

“I value difference, honesty, integrity, finding your own way, standing out and embracing uniqueness, being connected, the counselling relationship. I strongly believe people can find their own answers. I know that I am not here to fix, rescue or collude but I will be in the mud with you, and together we can work things out. I don't have all the answers, although I might have an idea here and there. I know that I am OK to sit with people in pain and discomfort. I can tolerate resistance and being stuck. I am not afraid to be afraid. I challenge people. I find resolutions. I know answers come by going deeper and finding what is not within current awareness”

Andrew is a fantastic therapist; we clicked from session one.

He understands my needs and is helping me discover more about myself and deal with issues practically. He makes me feel seen and supported and I would highly recommend him.

Written on Dec 07, 2022 after therapy with Andrew for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, and lgbt

Andrew and I began our sessions at a time when I was in crisis. Through our weekly sessions, Andrew has listened very respectfully to me, has challenged my thoughts and behaviours, has enabled me to seek further support, and enabled me to help myself better. One month later I feel in far greater control in my life and, for the first time in a long time, think I'm making slow progress in the right direction. Theraoy isn't easy, but Andrew has been first rate. Would highly recommend.

After four previous councillors, Andrew knocks the spots of them. He’s totally tuned into me and my situation and responds with surprising accuracy!
