Welcome! If you've made it this far chances are you're not feeling like your optimal self. Whatever you're going through, know that I'm here to listen, support and be with you on your journey. Allowing ourselves to be who we are even when life is broken and messy can be a challenge and feel unsettling. I strongly believe that each of us has the ability to handle life's ever-changing climate, to change our behaviors, stop beating ourselves up and move in the direction that helps us become who we are.
My approach consists of cognitive behavioral and narrative therapy. The stories we tell ourselves and the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that result from those stories can impact our lives in monumental ways. The process of examining and changing how we "view" ourselves, environment, and community is healing in a very personal way. Aside from my degree in counseling psychology, I have a degree in music which has influenced my approach to counseling. Music, like many arts, is cathartic and acts as a catalyst to changing our perspective, developing awareness, and experimenting with the possibility of change.
For 9 years I've helped people experiencing anxiety, chemical dependency, relationship issues, life adjustments and crisis prevention. I've witnessed as people have rebuilt their lives after suffering from debilitating thought patterns, maladaptive behaviors and extreme life transitions. I've also witnessed how people hurt, how people change, and most importantly how and whether people are willing to love themselves. When you're ready, I'm here to help guide as you find your most courageous, authentic self.
