About me
Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker in Montana. I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a focus on rural communities. I also have a Master of Social Work degree. I have been working in social work for 7 years and as a clinical therapist for 3 of those years. I have worked with people of all ages in various settings. I started out as a social worker at a hospice agency helping support individuals in palliative care. I helped support the terminal patient and their caregivers. I also provided support to the bereaved family members after their loss. I have worked for a community mental health agency, where I provided individual and family therapy. Most recently, I have worked as a therapist and social worker at an elementary school providing individual and group therapy, crisis management, and support to families. I have primarily worked with families experiencing stresses, people adapting to changes, people dealing with anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, and grief and loss.
As a therapist, I believe it is important for us to build a relationship to create trust so that we can work effectively. I come from a strength-based, trauma-informed perspective. Therapy should be a safe place for you to express a wide range of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and be met with understanding, empathy, and no judgment. I draw inspiration from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systems Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, but we will work together to find what works for you. Just as every individual is different, so is the therapeutic approach.
You have taken a brave step today in making a change in your life. I'm here to help you on your journey.
