About me

I’d like to start by introducing myself. My name is Anela Richie. I was born in Hawaii and raised walking distance from the Joshua Tree National Park. Not long after graduating high school, I decided to join the United States Air Force. After being medically retired after 17 years I went to work for a large defense contractor, though I still felt the need to do more to help people, especially my fellow veterans and their families. My passion has always been helping people, even while in the military. Helping people realize their true potential, find their happiness or work through what they could not go a minute without thinking about; no matter what it may be.
So, I set out on a new adventure and career by enrolling in school at Argosy University. Throughout school I set out to help fellow Veterans get re-acclimated to civilian life by volunteering for local veteran’s organizations. Additionally, I volunteered for a local foster family agency working with families to complete their resource family evaluations for Riverside and San Bernardino counties. I completed three years of clinical training working in Murrieta Unified School District where I was able to consistently work with children and their families to improve the child’s mental state while in school through various therapeutic activities including the practice of mindfulness. This further ignited my passion for helping people and led me to open my private practice here in the Inland Empire.

Anela has been very understanding and supportive. I'm not a fluent English speaker but she's patient all the time listening to my experience and problems. She helped me get through the most difficult time of my life so far. I really enjoyed talking to her and appreciated her respect and advice.

She is extremely supportive. She listens and offers great help. She is always super responsive to messages. However, I think sometimes she doesn’t understand what my needs or worries are. Which could also be a result of teletherapy in general. She is extremely understanding and tries to accommodate tight schedules.

Great theropist. Listens takes her time and easy to talk to.

Anela is the perfect balance between compassion and pressure. She’s the first therapist to understand my need not to relive or unpack everything from childhood, but to guide me through identifying specific events and how that’s shaped my actions and life. For the first time, I have improved insight into my behaviors and how to create boundaries. The boundaries and my new understanding dissolve the deep-rooted hatred and contempt I carried/hidden for my entire life. My smile is becoming more real and not a mask used to hide the embarrassment, shame, and anger residing deep inside me. That’s her gift to me! And I couldn’t be more thankful!

So far sessions with Anela have been very helpful. She listens but also gives a realistic view and perspective along with very good advice. She guides you to come to your own conclusions and challenges to think differently about your problems, often showing me a side I hadn’t thought of before. So far she’s been great!
