I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of North Carolina. I am a trained TeleMental Health Provider and am a Distance Credentialed Counselor. I have been counseling for 12 years since my internship began in 2005. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Licensed Professional Counselor’s Association of North Carolina. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counselor Development and Education with an emphasis in Community Counseling and a Specialist in Education degree with an emphasis in Child and Youth Settings both of which were received in 2006 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families on various issues. Some of these issues include but are not limited to trauma, mood disorders (depression & bipolar), anxiety disorders, family violence, grief and loss, foster care and adoption issues, stress management, self-esteem, and behavioral problems.
I believe that therapy has to be tailored to your personality and needs. Rogerian person-centered skills are the foundation of my work, and I often integrate Carl Jung's psychodynamic approach, Irvin Yalom's existential model, and John Bowlby's attachment theory into my work as appropriate. While often not the focus, I will incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques to meet your needs.
It is my belief that at the center, the very core of our beings, we have everything we need to be well. Each one of us is designed to be healthy, happy, and at peace. Along the way, “life” happens, and we become “less well” than we were created to be. Rather than looking at being “less well” as a disease or disorder, I think of it as being at a crossroads on our journey in life that leads us to make choices---choices that significantly impact our overall well-being. My hope is to meet you at your crossroads and assist you in centering yourself to look within for guidance to best navigate your journey.

Angel is a loving, kind and supportive counselor. I appreciate her listening and offering her insights. Thank you.
I've been in counseling off and on for 25 years. Angel is by far the best I've been involved with in a decade. In the 5 months we've worked together I understand things about myself that no other therapist has been able to explain.
I am very grateful to be matched with Angel. She is great and very helpful. She always responds in a timely manner. She's attentive, patient and often supports me with additional information and tools to help me through my difficult time. I'm so glad I found a place where I can express myself freely and get the support I need. Thank you Angel!
Angel is very professional and considerate and sweet. She understands my situation fully therefore she communicates with me in a way that makes me feel very comfortable. I will continue to work with Angel because I think she is really helping me.
I appreciate how patient and encouraging Angel has been with me. She seems to know what I'm trying to express to her no matter how poorly I put it, which puts my anxiety I usually have when communicating at ease. Setting goals for myself with her really pushed me to hold myself responsible for what I wanted to accomplish. I appreciate how she normalized my condition for me and praised me for the progress I made so far, to the point that I can definitely see the difference in how I was before and after starting therapy with her. She's great.
Angel very much earns her name. She is kind, sensitive, and thoughtful and is good at reading people. She intuitively knows when advice, consolation, listening, or discussion is needed, so she is good at avoiding unwanted advice but also steps in when you want more than sympathy. Generally wonderful human being and therapist.
Smart, beautiful lady. She's helped me out a lot and I'd recommend her 10/10!
Working with Angel has been a treat. I've had a number of counselors/therapists in my past and never clicked as well with one as I have with her. Her warm, caring, and open demeanor create a safe space to share and be honest and transparent. Her insights and questions are well-thought out, and I feel blessed and lucky to have found Angel. Highly recommended!
I tried BetterHelp before and hated it. Actually, I realize now that I just really didn't like the counselor I had last time. I really like Angel. She makes an effort to get to know and understand you in order to help you. I like that she uses data as well as conversation to do so. She's friendly and genuine, and I feel comfortable with her, which I honestly did not expect.
Angel is not only knowledgeable and resourceful, but also kind and understanding, four qualities which I have found extremely helpful in my journey with her through betterhelp.com . I've felt comfortable talking about my issues from the very start, and have appreciated her responsiveness and flexibility schedule-wise. I have only been online with her for a few weeks, but I feel like she has provided me with a great "starter's tool-kit" to help me face my issues with more confidence. Thanks!
Angel is amazing , the type of person to help u overcome any negative situation in the simplest ways you could possibly think of ! truly astonished by the quick changes I have been noticing in myself!
