I'm so glad you're reaching out and would love to help you figure out how to get on the track you want for your life. Let me tell you a little bit about how I work. I often do a blend of both individual and family sessions depending on what we need to work on. Overall, my approach is as a partner to help you figure out what’s best for you and to help guide your next steps. I have a strong family/support system focus which means that I filter things through an understanding of how you live your life in relationship with others (e.g, your family, friends, partner, community). I also lean towards helping you identify how your thoughts and behaviors are affecting your concerns as well as your possible solutions. I’m very solution focused as well, so I’ll help you explore and structure your plans for your future, outline each step, and practice the steps or behaviors in sessions before asking you to practice new ways of doing things between sessions. I’m there to support you all along the way until you feel that you're ready to keep going without me.
A little about my background... I have more than 20 years of experience working with people across the lifespan although much of my time has been spent working with adolescents, transition age young adults, and couples. I have two areas of specialization: helping to improve family and partner relationships and providing healing to those who have faced traumatic or adverse life events. However, I have worked with many people with very diverse backgrounds, needs, and goals. I am trained in Trauma Recovery; Family Systems, Solution Focused Approaches, Cognitive-Behavioral Approaches, NMT (Neurosequential Models of Therapeutics). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Florida and Illinois.
You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. I usually check messages twice each day, most days of the week. I offer chat, live chat, video, and phone sessions with some availability in the evenings and weekends (by request). Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability as I try to be flexible as needed week to week. Please check with me through messaging first.
I look forward to hearing from you and can answer any questions you have in your search to find a counselor you can trust.

I really enjoy talking to Angie. I almost gave up on this app because of the lack of help i’ve received from counselors, but she helps me tremendously each week.
Angie is a great counselor. She is responsive and offers good tips for your situation. I like the summary that she puts together after each session. It restates what was discussed and is available to be revisited later. Angie is kind and respectful.
I have tried counseling off and on for decades, with no success in finding a great fit, often thinking counseling was not for me. I tried BetterHelp on a fluke and did not connect with first two counselors. Deciding again, counseling was not for me, I almost deleted my account, but decided to give it one more try. Wow! Angie is a winner and I am so happy I was patient and waited for the right connection. Angie is a great listener and always offers solutions/homework to help me achieve my counseling goals. I look forward to our weekly talks and know it is a process, but happy to have her on this journey with me.
Angie is very insightful, a great listener, and solutions focused. Upon first "meeting" with her, she made me feel at ease and was able to help me come up with some good solutions to my problems. I feel very fortunate to have been matched with her and look forward to cultivating healthy emotional habits and ways of handling problems that are not in my control.
Angie is a great listener and I feel that she really understands what is at the heart of the matter. She offers excellent feedback that helps me better understand myself and that guides me in the choices I will make. Angie is professional in every way and I highly recommend her!
I like Ms Angie, she is the best I had.
I hope something will kick my mind for better future.
I've only been with Angie for a few weeks now. She responds quickly to my messages. We've had one live session so far, and I feel confident she will be able to help me.
She has been wonderful thus far. She communicates well and has given me a lot of insightful strategies and things to think about. I feel that she is very easy to talk to and remains professional. I appreciate her staying in contact in between sessions and summarizing our sessions afterward.
