About Me

I'm so glad you're reaching out and would love to help you figure out how to get on the track you want for your life. Let me tell you a little bit about how I work. I often do a blend of both individual and family sessions depending on what we need to work on. Overall, my approach is as a partner to help you figure out what’s best for you and to help guide your next steps. I have a strong family/support system focus which means that I filter things through an understanding of how you live your life in relationship with others (e.g, your family, friends, partner, community). I also lean towards helping you identify how your thoughts and behaviors are affecting your concerns as well as your possible solutions. I’m very solution focused as well, so I’ll help you explore and structure your plans for your future, outline each step, and practice the steps or behaviors in sessions before asking you to practice new ways of doing things between sessions. I’m there to support you all along the way until you feel that you're ready to keep going without me.

A little about my background... I have more than 20 years of experience working with people across the lifespan although much of my time has been spent working with adolescents, transition age young adults, and couples. I have two areas of specialization: helping to improve family and partner relationships and providing healing to those who have faced traumatic or adverse life events. However, I have worked with many people with very diverse backgrounds, needs, and goals. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Family Systems, Solution Focused Approaches, Cognitive-Behavioral Approaches, NMT (Neurosequential Models of Therapeutics). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a certificate in Geriatrics for Non-Physicians.

You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. I usually check messages twice each day, most days of the week. I offer messaging, live chat, video, and phone sessions with some availability in the evenings and weekends. Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability as I try to be flexible as needed week to week. Please check with me through messaging first.

I look forward to hearing from you and can answer any questions you have in your search to find a counselor you can trust.

She has been wonderful thus far. She communicates well and has given me a lot of insightful strategies and things to think about. I feel that she is very easy to talk to and remains professional. I appreciate her staying in contact in between sessions and summarizing our sessions afterward.
