Angelina Valdespino, LCSW
About me
Welcome! Thank you for allowing me to join you on your journey. My name is Angelina Valdespino, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Mexico. I have a decade of experience in the field of social work and 8 years experience in the mental health field. I currently operate a private practice in Las Cruces, NM through which I provide the option of collaborative services as part of a fully integrated total wellness holistic treatment team. I specialize in trauma and attachment issues and in recent years have expanded my professional efforts to explore the intersection of mental health and developmental disabilities.
I have a master’s degree in social work from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from New Mexico State University. My studies included a focus on mental health training and education. Recently, I've concentrated my practice on dealing with the common, yet significant, challenges of life.
My experience spans many diverse populations and needs. Primarily, I have worked with victims of abuse, at-risk children, youth and families, and high-risk adults with severe mental illnesses and/or legal involvement. I am also skilled in crisis intervention, mental health first aid and critical incident stress debriefing. My background also includes outpatient, inpatient/psychiatric hospital, residential group and transitional living homes, treatment foster care, foster and adoptive families, pre- and post-natal, developmental and intellectual disabilities, first responders, and athletes, among others. I’ve spent much of my career serving minority populations and cultural groups.
I like to allow the natural growth of a genuinely safe and trusting professional relationship with my clients. I welcome the opportunity to walk beside you through the path toward a healthier, happier life.
