Angie Ellis
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the great state of Texas. I also hold a Board Certification in Professional Christian Counseling. My experience in the field of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities spans 24 years. Numerous years were spent working as a case manager/life coach utilizing a Psychiatric Rehabilitation approach developed by the Boston Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. This approach emphasizes skill development focusing upon increasing the hope, confidence and motivation of individuals to increase self-esteem, management of feelings, ability to communicate clearly etc... As a Mental Health Counselor I have extensive experience with Bi-Polar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Family issues, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Personally as a psychotherapist, I believe in relationship within the process. Establishing an environment that is safe and inviting is my goal. It is my belief that you are the expert on everything concerning you, therefore your heart and soul are central to the development of goals. Developing goals come from evidenced based theories such as: Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and if requested and integration of Psychology and Theology. We will not use all of these, yet we will work together to find the best fit for your needs.
Taking the first step toward anything is usually the hardest. Might I say, I am thrilled that you have gotten to this point. My hope is that you take the next step and chose to walk through this journey with me to the point of self-growth, hope, confidence and motivation to continue the journey set before you.
God Bless! I look forward to working with you.
