About Me
Hi! My name is Anissa, I appreciate you reaching out to Better Help for the opportunity in finding the right counselor for you. Just to give you an idea of myself, I have been working in the mental health field for 12 years and have been a Licensed Counselor for the last 7 years. I have experience in working within inpatient psychiatric hospital settings, outpatient mental health and addictions counseling (individual therapy, group therapy, intensive outpatient program) and in-home therapy.
I graduated from Monmouth University in 2015 where I obtained a Masters Degree in Science with a focus in Mental Health Counseling. Prior to attending MU, I studied at Georgian Court University with a focus in Psychology. My treatment approach is very eclectic, I do enjoy problem solving and figuring out what options are available. I pull from different approaches and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Existential, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapies. This isn't, "One size fits all," for me. I adapt to what your needs and wants are to work with you in creating the right treatment plan and goals that you want to achieve.
I'm just thankful that you sought help when you did, that's all that matters. Let's see what we can accomplish with the time that we have.
