About me

I am licensed in Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and licensed in New Mexico as a Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCMHC). I have over 20 years of professional work experience on-line and in private practices. I have helped clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, depression, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.

The foundational theory I generally use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which makes the argument that most of our achievements and decisions are based on our thoughts. Therefore, if we can identify our thoughts, we can change them and consequently our feelings and our actions or behavior. CBT has helped people deal with anger, depression, stress, grief, self-loathing. low motivation and poor self-esteem. In addition, I'm training for certification in several different treatment modalities as well. I just received my certification in DBT.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I commend you for your bravery. I am here to support you in that process.

Absolutely adore working with Anita, she listens to what I have to say and tells me what I need to hear not what I want. I can also fully contribute my new relationship to her, she prepared me to land softly out of a toxic relationship and find the love if my life.

Anita Fletcher is as good as they get and all I could ask for in a therapist. She is a great help in assisting me to try and better myself by first getting to the core reasons why I do the things I do. She is none judgmental and I have no doubts she truly wants to see me make positive changes all the while allowing me the courtesy to go at my own pace. Even when that pace has taken me 3 steps backwards, her support is constant and very much appreciated. Today is one of those days where she has reached out to me just to see how I am doing and it's uncanny almost as though she can sense that I am struggling and in need of her support. We have a long way to go and I have no doubts in my mind that she will guide me through it all. I look forward to our weekly video chats as they have become a beaken of light and hope just knowing I'm not alone! Really I could go on, but I'm sure you get my point!
