About Me

Hello! My name is Ann Brooks. I'm a Licensed Clinician in the State of MA. I have experience working with adults who are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, complicated grief, parenting, elder care, relationships and substance misuse.

I draw from Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with a focus on identifying negative thoughts, the impact they play on emotions and that lead to negative behaviors.

My mindfulness-based, client centered approach with a focus on strengths, goals, and current needs will aid you in developing coping skills that will allow you to move from problematic emotions and unhealthy habits to healing.

I have a non-judgmental, compassionate, supportive, and reflective style. My aim is to help you figure the path that’s right for you to begin the process of change. With that said seeking help is the first step in your courageous journey towards improving thoughts, emotional stability, actions and a greater wellbeing.

I’m here to listen and I look forward to working with you.

Ann is so great. She is an active listener, and seems to intuit all of the things I am going through. I can't say enough good things about her.

Wow oh wow. This is the second time I have worked with Ann about a year apart of each other. She is very empathetic and also a great sound board for idea generation and practical skills. I am definitely a work in progress as I deal with family trauma, relationships issues, and depression. With Ann, I worked out my feelings, emotions and practiced the skills we discussed in real time. She tells it like it sis!
(if you are reading...)

A critique I would have however is that I wish she was more available. That is more of a selfish one because she needs to recharge somehow. But I thoroughly enjoyed receiving her services.

From the first meeting I can see that Ann is experienced and professional. She picks up the details and hones in on what seems to really be at the core of the issues. I get the sense that she is invested in her client's success.
