About Me

Hi, my name is Annie and I am a licensed professional counselor in Wyoming and Colorado with over 5 years of experience working in various roles supporting those struggling with both mental health and substance use. Currently, I work alongside people to address a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and low self-esteem. In addition, I help people safely process grief and trauma so that they can get back to living life fully and be more present.

My counseling style is warm, interactive, and engaging. I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, and compassion. My eclectic approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, existential/humanistic, mindfulness, and solutions focused therapy. Basically, what all of this means is that I help you to explore tools and ways to successfully manage the intensity of those overwhelming emotions. We will go where you want to go. You are in control of this process!

Lastly, for full transparency, I have been on the other side of the table, so to speak. I sought help to unpack my own 'stuff' so that I could feel better about the trajectory of my life and stop the suffering. I found it challenging in the beginning to be open, honest, and fully share parts of me with a complete stranger, but I soon learned that my therapist cared and provided me with unconditional positive regard and non-judgment. This created space for me to allow the healing process to begin. I didn't feel so stuck and alone anymore. I began to feel hopeful again, took an active role in my own life, and shifted my focus back to things and people who mattered to me. It was liberating. I'm sharing this because I'd like for you to know that although healing can be a messy process sometimes, you don't need to go about it alone.

Annie is awesome. She’s empathetic and easy to talk to. She’s the best counselor I’ve had and feel very comfortable sharing with her. She’s helped me a lot with my relationship issues and working on myself through that.

when I first got offered a chance to do therapy I always thought it was a joke because I always thought it wouldn't do anything. but I finally took a chance on it and im so glad that I did. Ann May has helped me open up doors I forgot I had and actually listens to all of my problems and provides me with amazing advice and reassurance that I have always been looking for. she is amazing. 10/10 would recommend.

Finding a therapist like Ann is so rare as I immediately felt comfortable with her and I was so scared and hesitant of not being matched with the right person. She listens to every word and offers great insight to my life in a different perspective.

I just started my sessions with Annie a few weeks ago and I am already making progress. I was nervous to start virtual counseling but I am very happy that I did. She listens and offers helpful advice. Definitely the most positive experience I have had with counseling so far. Would definitely recommend.

I believe she is a very kind hearted person. She listens and comes up with a solution for you. There is absolutely no judgement when you are in her sessions. I believe she looks directly at your situation to help you get better
