About me

Hello,
Emotions bring us joy and also distress. Somewhere between these points you may have experienced feeling lost or confused. Your desire to retrieve and establish balance in your life, may now be what you need most. It takes courage to share with another person your private challenges. If you would like to reach out with a phone call, we can speak and discuss your concerns. If you feel we are a good match, we can move forward. I hope you make that call.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold a license in the state of Connecticut. I have experience working with diverse populations such as College students and Community Mental Health Center. My oldest client was 90+ and the youngest was 20. Clients concerns are as different as they are.
There is no one therapeutic technique that is effective with all situations. Therefore I work with several forms of Person centered and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I begin by listening as you share what concerns you want help with. We then discuss what goals are achievable and which will move you in the direction of that resolution. My focus is to establish a safe and trusting environment.
Peace, Ann

Ann Powderly has been extremely helpful with better understanding my anxiety and how my previous experiences can still impact me today. With her help, I've felt more confident in not only managing my anxiety, but seeing further ahead of it.

I was a little nervous to start therapy. I was so nervous I wanted to cancel my first therapy session with Ann. I pushed myself to make it to my session and I do not regret it. Ann made me feel safe and she assured me that anything and everything I shared is okay. I look forward to our session every week. Ann is personable, understanding, and gives amazing feedback. I have made a lot of progress so far! I am beyond happy I have her as my therapist.
