About me

Hello. My name is Anna and the thing I love most about counselling is the diverse mix of people that I am lucky enough to work with.

No two clients are the same and I feel privileged to be trusted with the inner thoughts and experiences of each and every one of my clients and I take that very seriously. I treat each person respectfully and admire them for the unique individual that they are.

During my time as a therapist, I have helped clients with their understanding and self-awareness of a broad range of issues and experiences. My work has included 8 years as a committee member for Women’s Aid, 2 years working for Mind, the mental health charity, 1 year working at a secondary school counselling 11-18 year old pupils and 4 years as a volunteer counsellor at Rape Crisis. I reserve 3 sessions weekly to continue this practice, as I strongly believe that everyone who needs it should have ongoing access to counselling regardless of finance.

I am a counsellor for the charity Sporting Chance, founded by former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams MBE, which enables me to work with elite athletes from various sporting professions including football, squash and horse racing. My work includes two days a week at Woman's Trust, a London based specialist mental health charity, counselling women that have experienced domestic abuse.

I have a range of client experience in different areas including, but not limited to:

Eating disorders
Obsessive compulsive disorder
Alcohol and drug misuse
Self-harm
Incest
Physical trauma
Sports injury
Rape and physical abuse
Pre-trial therapy
Domestic violence and psychological control
Child separation
Sexuality
Depression
Self-destructive tendencies
Personality disorders
Insomnia
Divorce
Career progression
Anxiety
Suicidal ideation
Anger
Low self esteem

I am a fully qualified BACP accredited therapist. I am a member of the BACP and am governed by their ethical framework. I have a full DBS check and professional indemnity insurance. In addition to my counselling training, I have BSc (Hons) in Reflective Therapeutic Practice, qualifications in couples counselling, clinical supervision, safeguarding, sexual oppression and domestic violence training and autism awareness and eating disorders. I am currently undertaking my Masters with Kings College London in Neuroscience and I have undertaken extensive research into mood disorders.
