Hello. My name is Anna and the thing I love most about counselling is the diverse mix of people that I am lucky enough to work with.
No two clients are the same and I feel privileged to be trusted with the inner thoughts and experiences of each and every one of my clients and I take that very seriously. I treat each person respectfully and admire them for the unique individual that they are.
During my time as a therapist, I have helped clients with their understanding and self-awareness of a broad range of issues and experiences. My work has included 8 years as a committee member for Women’s Aid, 2 years working for Mind, the mental health charity, 1 year working at a secondary school counselling 11-18 year old pupils and 4 years as a volunteer counsellor at Rape Crisis. I reserve 3 sessions weekly to continue this practice, as I strongly believe that everyone who needs it should have ongoing access to counselling regardless of finance.
I am a counsellor for the charity Sporting Chance, founded by former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams MBE, which enables me to work with elite athletes from various sporting professions including football, squash and horse racing. My work includes two days a week at Woman's Trust, a London based specialist mental health charity, counselling women that have experienced domestic abuse.
I have a range of client experience in different areas including, but not limited to:
Obsessive compulsive disorder
Alcohol and drug misuse
Rape and physical abuse
Domestic violence and psychological control
Low self esteem
I am a fully qualified BACP accredited therapist. I am a member of the BACP and am governed by their ethical framework. I have a full DBS check and professional indemnity insurance. In addition to my counselling training, I have BSc (Hons) in Reflective Therapeutic Practice, qualifications in couples counselling, clinical supervision, safeguarding, sexual oppression and domestic violence training and autism awareness and eating disorders. I am currently undertaking my Masters with Kings College London in Neuroscience and I have undertaken extensive research into mood disorders.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Anna Gilmore. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I really enjoy my sessions with Anna. I feel confident in sharing my thoughts, experiences and emotions with her. Anna listens attentively and offers me guidance, while encouraging me to discover my own solutions. Anna’s knowledge and expertise has been positively matched to my needs.
Anna from day one has been nothing but professional and incredibly supportive. She has helped me immensely. Her knowledge and support is more than I could have hoped for starting therapy.
It’s my second time doing therapy and this time I feel that I really found the right match for my current needs. She really listens to me and I feel that she really gets me. I couldn’t have been matched with a better therapist. Looking forward to carry on working with Anna and see what can we discover together in this journey. Thank you.
Anna has been a remarkable amount
Anna is the friendliest, caring and supporting therapist and I always feel so uplifted and hopeful after speaking with her :) x
I haven't worked with Anna for long but from the first session she was very empathetic, caring and easy to talk to while remaining professional. She is good at mostly letting me lead the sessions but always has good insights and asks great questions that help me reflect on everything I bring to the session. The approach she employs with me is helpful and I'm very happy I found her.
Anna is a warm and supportive counsellor who listens and responds and acknowledges what I'm expressing and I feel heard, valued and respected. We are only in the early stages but I appreciate how often she responds and consistently.
