Welcome! And congratulations on taking the first step towards new solutions in your life. Therapy is a place for you to explore and learn about yourself in a way that is right for you. I provide a safe, supportive and encouraging environment in which all my clients can improve self-understanding, solve problems, heal, grow and change.
I base my therapeutic approach in Carl Roger's humanistic tenants of genuineness, acceptance and empathy. This means you will receive genuine attention and interest from me; acceptance of who you are, what you are experiencing; and empathy with your experience, challenges and pain. It is always an honor for me to be present with people who are willing to share their lives and experiences, their triumphs and failures. I sit with you without judgment, joining with you in your story. I ask questions to stimulate thinking about things in new ways, to invite you to think outside the box and consider new ideas or "experiments" to try to bring about change in your life. Clinical orientations I typically draw from are: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution-Focused Therapy; Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT); Motivational Interviewing.
My special areas of interest are: relationship concerns and challenges; teen and young adult emotional health and life challenges; career and life transitions; college students; parenting; LGBT issues, sexuality and gender.
I received my counseling training at Argosy University, Washington, DC campus with a Masters degree in Community Counseling. My clinical training included working with children, adolescents, and families as well as providing counseling to clients dealing with substance abuse.

Anne has been amazing. She's available and responsive while being incredibly flexible with my chaotic schedule. More than that though, she listens, she gets it (and always makes sure that she's getting it), and she sends me helpful links and suggestions regularly. I don't think I've ever had a better therapy experience, and that's saying something, because I've been in therapy on and off since I was a young child. Anne has already helped me reassess some of my assumptions and perspectives while reaffirming my emotions and helping me to understand and embrace both my instincts and my true self. I feel very lucky to have found her, and I would definitely recommend her (and BetterHelp) - especially to anyone with a hectic schedule.
Anne is amazing. She really understands me mentally and emotionally. I feel supported and confident in what I want to do in order to be happier. Thank you so much.
She’s so professional and explains in detail what actions we are going to take. She makes me feel welcomed, allowing me to share anything I want.
