Anne Marie Frost

About Me

Welcome! My name is Anne Marie Frost (Anne is fine!) and I have been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri for over 10 years. I came to be an LPC later in life, but have found this is one job where being a bit more "seasoned" is actually a benefit! I've worked in a variety of settings with a variety people - many in recovery from addictions (drugs, food), others who were facing difficult life issues/decisions, and many often struggling mightily with depression and anxiety. I love my work, and I am very blessed to be able to do something that I both enjoy and find purpose in. And I work hard to build trust and a good rapport with the people I talk with. I am a great lover of quotes and here is a favorite: “Choice, not chance, determines destiny . . . Today you choose.” The power of choice is a concept that I try to impart to subscribers. So often people feel powerless – like chance is what got them to the point they are at. But, pretty often, it is actually the choices made. This is one of the basic ideas in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – something I use a lot in sessions. Another favorite: “Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.” (Anne Lamott, author) One of best things about talking to a counselor is one often feels a greater sense of hope very quickly! Why? Because just making that first small step is a key component to feeling better, and can bring about feelings of hope that, perhaps, have been missing for a long time. So please, make a choice today and take the opportunity to talk to with me to bring forth a greater sense of hope for your life! Wait - one more quote: “Yeah, I’ve got emotional baggage; but it’s really cute and it matches.” A sense of humor is the spice of life!

Working with Anne Marie has been amazing. She is above and beyond what I expected from online therapy and has helped me immensely during the few months we've been working together. I truly value Anne's input and guidance - she asks questions and makes sure she understands my concerns before responding and gives me thoughtful, caring advice when I ask for it.

Anne Marie Frost is the best counselor I have ever had. I would refer anybody to her. She listens and responds uniquely to you and your situation. She understands the person and what’s wrong.

I have only visited with her once, but she is very easy to communicate with and she has words of wisdom and I recognize her expertise as a counselor. I was very happy with the experience and look forward to our future conversations.

I've been extremely impressed with Anne's genuine care and expertise. I haven't had her as a counselor for very long, but so far she has been wonderful. She asks great questions and gives thoughtful/encouraging advice.
