Welcome! My name is Annie Jacobs and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah. I graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Professional Specialization and a certificate in Trauma studies. I completed my undergrad from the University of Utah and received a bachelors in psychology. I have over 3 years of experience working with individuals who struggle with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and those who struggle with substance abuse. I have also worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 12+ years and I am very familiar with different medications. I am also well-versed in Holistic treatment modalities as well.
My approach and counseling style: I am a very person-centered therapist and will naturally weave in CBT/DBT, different forms of cognitive restructuring, Internal Family Systems, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing techniques to help my clients discover their Core Self and internally heal from past traumas. I am direct, but gentle when giving feedback. I believe the reason we participate in certain behaviors is to meet underlying needs that are both known and unknown, which can lead to emotional distress (such as panic attacks, binging behaviors, or depressive symptoms). My goal is to help you understand WHY you are behaving in the way that you are and to help you process any negative emotions that can arise.

She’s incredible! I’ve never always struggled with feeling heard and problem solving but with the tools Annie gives me and the attention I get I’ve never been in as good of a place as I am now! I highly recommend Annie! Again, she’s incredible
Annie is a very loving and caring human being, and is perfectly suited to her profession. She always has a technique or a bit of advice to give whenever it is needed, and she always remembers details from every single conversation. She is available whenever I need her, and always responds in a timely manner. Annie has continued to be a voice of comfort and reason through all the various shades of chaos I seem to experience. Annie has helped me completely change my life for the better, and I am very grateful to her and Better Help for giving me the help I've needed.
Annie is fantastic. I'm so thrilled that we were matched the therapy she provides is exactly what I was hoping for.
Annie is a fantastic communicator (which I was worried about considering the medium of therapy) and she makes you feel like your concerns are of value and importance. I have loved my time with Annie!
So far, Annie has been really great and I feel more secure with her than any other counselor I have seen before. She understands my frustrations and that some of the most recommended tools don't work for me and instead of trying to make me accept those tools, helps me find a different path. I'm really glad that she was matched with me and feel hopeful that I can reach my goals with her guidance.
Annie is the best! I really struggle with getting my words out and explaining what’s wrong but that doesn’t matter. She still understands and offers solutions I would never think of. I may not need to talk much but she’s always there when I need her and checks in with me all the time!
Annie is such an engaged listener. She has specific feedback for the things I’m worried about and ideas to help manage my emotional health. I love the video conferences.
She is extremely knowledgeable and an amazing facilitator. You will do hard work with her, but she won’t let you go on your own.
Annie is caring, helpful and resourceful.
