Annie Jones

About Me

I have worked over ten years in the mental health field providing a variety of services, and as a counselor for the past five years working with people of diverse backgrounds and walks of life. As an LCSW, my background in social work informs my approach to take into consideration how you may be impacted by your environment, including work, school, family, and beyond. From a theoretical perspective, I love what's known as "narrative therapy," as I truly believe that defining our relationships to the stories we tell ourselves and to others about our lives is one of the most powerful actions we can take. I also draw from Jungian concepts and traditions such as existential work and logotherapy to support the earnest efforts of individuals to do the hard work of healing and to create meaningful lives.

I am dedicated to "meeting you where you're at," which basically means that I will work alongside you as to listen, affirm, and encourage you on your journey. I believe counseling relationships are built on trust , and in service of such, I will do my best to honor your preferences and requests and not push you into challenges you feel you may not be ready for. That said, I am not afraid of the long road to healing, including from deep psychic trauma and lifelong addictions, and I would be privileged to support you in recovery work of this fashion as well.

I am glad you've chosen to start (or continue) the process of therapy; it can be such a great tool for making our lives better, maybe even better than we dared to hope.

I look forward to working with you.

Annie is a wonderfully supportive counselor. I appreciate the time, thought, caring and effort she puts into every message. I am healing, where I was previously "stuck". I feel fortunate to have been matched with her.

Annie is a wonderful therapist. She listens extensively and responds thoughtfully and she seems to truly care. I tried better help once before, but didn’t experience it the way I am now. Annie wants you to get better and gives you worksheets and things to do to start working towards what you want. She is absolutely wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone that is serious about healing and finding new ways to approach situations. She is very thoughtful and put in more time than she has to to care and help.

In just a short amount of time, Annie has been able to work with my issues and really help me develop an action plan for success. 10/10.
