Annie Wilson

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who recently relocated from San Diego to San Francisco, California. I have been providing supportive counseling to clients in a variety of settings for the past five years. I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia and my Master’s in Social Work from San Diego State University. Much of my clinical experience is through working with patients and their families in acute inpatient settings. In addition to medical social work, I have experience providing individual therapy and facilitating group therapy in various outpatient mental health systems. I am passionate about helping individuals overcome the challenges they face in order to become the best version of themselves.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathetic listening and emotional validation. I often incorporate strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and motivational interviewing techniques to encourage self-compassion and to elicit change talk. I place a high value on the importance of person-centered care and seek opportunities to empower individuals to determine the best plan of action specific to his or her needs. I work to genuinely understand and meet my clients in the midst of their struggle in order to develop realistic therapeutic goals supported by uncovered strengths. I am looking forward to working alongside you!

Annie is amazing. She listens without judgement and is never pushy. I am incredibly lucky to have her.

Annie is easy to talk to, responsive, and caring. I've had counselors who would forgot some things discussed from previous sessions and she is always on top if it. She also has a knack for asking the right questions to open up your thoughts to the possibilities of why you're going through the things you're going through. Highly recommend her.
