I am a licensed clinical social worker born and raised in Southern California. I have been working with families and individuals for 13 years and have found my work with children and families particularly helpful in working with individual adults. I have also worked with trauma as well as with young adults who are developing new lives and careers. After completing my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Women's Studies, I thought the best use of my time would be to pursue a career in Social Work.
My style tends to be very interactive and fun with warmth as an underlying tone. I believe that in life we all struggle to find purpose and we sometimes over think it. This is why I believe in treating everyone with respect and I always come with the upmost curiosity about the people I meet in order to explore what that purpose might be. My techniques will combine cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches, as well as solution focused techniques. I have learned that the best approach is to uniquely tailor to the needs of the individual sitting in front of me.
There is great strength and vulnerability in reaching out and finding additional supports and help for yourself. I welcome you and acknowledge your courage. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you.
Additional areas of focus: LGBT, Relationship issues, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue, ADHD

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Aracely Sorrels. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Aracely is supportive, kind, and challenges me to think in different ways. Aracely truly listens to my problems and understands the roots of my problems and helps me dig deeper into my understanding of my relationships, career, and even my coping mechanisms. She’s been ultra supportive, yet isn’t afraid to be direct about the root of my problem which has helped me immensely grow. I believe her support will help me immensely grow, get into a healthy relationship, create healthy boundaries with my loved ones, and create a healthier dialogue with myself. I’ve had several therapists in my past yet never found I have clicked with and with Aracely, from the moment we connected, I felt like it was a perfect fit and she truly digs deep into the issue and comes from a non-judgmental perspective. I’m immensely excited for my growth with her and to see where I go from here. Thank you, Aracely! You are truly a blessing to all those around you.
