For the last 16 years, my philosophy towards therapy has been first and foremost to honor the trust that you've placed in my position as guide and witness. Every client, every session, is unique, and I celebrate this in my regard for your innate wisdom and personal sovereignty. My practice is borne from an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to wellness and healing, and balances both Western scientific and Eastern holistic perspectives. I approach each session from a humanistic, person centered and informed approach. As a guide, I help you evolve toward a more empowering path to your life, while also focusing on short and long term goals. My areas of focus include anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, eating disorders, LBGT awareness, and transitional issues, i.e. feeling "stuck", and not sure how to proceed.
In terms of training, I have been working in the human services field since 2001, earned my MSW in Clinical Social Work from Smith College in 2004, and have been independently licensed since 2007. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings and have additional training in eating disorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and the Seeking Safety and Creating Change approach to trauma and substance abuse disorders. I also have training in meditation, yoga, and stress reduction techniques.
I honor and value my relationships with each of you, your perspectives and life experiences. I very much look forward to working with you!

I worked with Aria for over a year and she helped me so much. I came to her initially with some disordered eating, anxiety, and some depression/negative thoughts. She really helped me learn to reframe my thoughts and my words so that I could be kind to myself. The insights she had along with the questions she posed to me helped me learn to challenge how society or external pressures were making me feel. I realized that outward pressures might be making me feel or think a certain way about myself, and those pressures aren’t reflective of who I am. It’s also nice to have a someone in a neutral position listen to your thoughts and fears. It’s so helpful to just get it all out and tell someone what is going on inside your head.
Aria does a great job of checking in with me while allowing me time to learn and internalize her insights on my own time. She has a good grasp on what my needs and concerns are, and uses her intelligence to respond accordingly.
Aria was always very timely in reaching out and acting proactively. She gave me a number of strategies to approach my situation. She was great and I appreciate the guidance.
Aria is excellent and very helpful in helping understand what my feelings are.
She has been great and has helped me through some very difficult personal issues.
As a therapist myself, I am very picky about my own therapy- so I have avoided it for years. Aria “gets” me. I have a significant amount of medical trauma, and she has helped me gain insight into some of my compensatory behaviors. She is extremely supportive and checks in on me in between sessions. She has a calm demeanor, and always has great feedback.
Aria is an insightful, competent, and caring therapist. Her questions are always spot on and lead one to greater understanding of oneself. I am so pleased with the progress that we have made together and would recommend Aria to anyone seeking counseling.
Aria is extremely perceptive and sensitive to her clients' needs and concerns. She has the gift of asking thoughtful questions and listening to her clients with the full intention of understanding.
My experience so far with Aria has been great! Thank you!
She is a great therapist.
