Hello My name is Ariel (yes, like the little mermaid!) and I am a licensed mental health therapist and child mental health specialist with over 17 years in the field of mental health beginning in 2003 as a behavioral aide specialist to a Psychotherapist. I have been counseling for the past 12 years and I have worked in a number of different treatment modalities to include psychiatric hospitals, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, crisis de-escalation & stabilization, community health (in-home and outpatient clinics). Working in these different areas of treatment has provided me with a keen knowledge in supporting individuals and families who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, family relationships/conflict, cultural issues, life transitions and managing crisis in the home/community. I am also experienced in working with autism, ADHD, FAST (Family Assessment and Stabilization Team) and WISE (Wraparound with intensive services).
My personal style is welcoming, empathetic, direct and solution focused and allows me to get to know my clients in a manner that supports a healthy and strong therapeutic relationship which I deem to be the basis for any successful treatment. The approaches that influence my work with individuals and families are Reality, Humanistic, CBT, Integrative, Multicultural and Behavioral approaches. It is my belief that each individual and family is different and no one treatment works for all, therefore I draw from many theories in making sure that I am able to support individuals and families in the best way that I can.
Different experiences and stages in my life have equipped me with the confidence in working with individuals from all walks of life. My passion is to work to continue to break stigmas in cultures and communities that may shy away from therapy while normalizing therapy to create a healthier world, one individual at a time! We take care of our bodies daily through things like eating healthy and exercising, ask yourself why can’t we do this for our minds and own mental health? Just like in exercising, consistency is key to see the results and the same principle will apply in working on your mental health. Will you work towards that mission with me, by helping yourself today?!!
I look forward to speaking with you!

She is honest and sincere with a plan to get you to your goals.
Ariel has been my Counselor for about 4 months now, and she is phenomenal! She listens intently, has great input to share, and Ive never felt judged or uncomfortable sharing with her topics that are quite frankly incredibly challenging to discuss. She is incredible at what she does
Ariel is very kind, patient, and understanding. She also has a good sense of humor and is practical and down to Earth which I like. I appreciate her help in the therapy process and the rapport that she has taken the time to build in order to make me feel comfortable in talking to her. I actually feel like she knows me and gets me as a person, which makes me feel safe to talk to her about things.
She was kind, supportive, and understanding. I had requested a video session but her camera wasn't working, so that was maybe not the best situation but our conversation was still good.
Ariel is a great counselor. She’s thoughtful, insightful and truly listens. The sessions I’ve had with her are already helping tremendously. Would gladly recommend Ariel to anyone starting BetterHelp.
I'm glad I got matched with Ariel! This was my first time trying therapy and I was very anxious about it. She made me feel comfortable right away and is very easy to talk to. She's made a lot of things click for me! I highly recommend Ariel! She's great!
She is nice, understanding, knowledgeable, and has style, and rich flava.
Ariel is a lovely person and a great listener. She makes you feel comfortable and at home, and makes it easy to open up. Through our sessions, she has opened my mind to new ways of understanding my own feelings and the nature of the connections in my life.
I love my video sessions with Ariel! I feel like she really listens and gives good feedback yo work on throughout the week. However, I wish she was a little more responsive to messages and was able to counsel through those as well.
She is amazing and helps me process situations when I am not sure how to
