Hello! My name is Ariel.
I was born in rural Illinois - right in the middle of corn country. I completed my undergraduate studies in psychology, family and child studies as well as public health at Northern Illinois University. Once I realized that psychology was my passion I opted to head in the social work direction. This led me to achieving my Masters in Social Work from Aurora University. I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including individual therapy, group therapy, psycho-educational groups, family therapy and crisis interventions. In working in such a wide range of settings, I've been able to work with an array of different situations. I have experience in helping clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, crisis situations and adjustment disorders.
My goal in therapy is to focus on the immediate stressors, process through them and work together to better manage. I use an eclectic approach moving between Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and empowerment techniques - but the most important thing is to meet you where you are at and what you would like to work on.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me - and if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
I'm excited and look forward to working with you!
