About me

Hello! I am glad you took the first step to seek support in this journey called life. My name is Arley Chisolm and I am a licensed counselor here to help you navigate through this journey. Counseling can be rewarding and challenging but it is worth it in the end. Let me tell you a little about me.

I am a graduate of Webster University with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling in 2007 and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of South Carolina in 2005. I have over ten years of experience in mental health counseling. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in working with individuals with depression and anxiety. I have worked in various arenas of behavioral health and mental health including community based services, individual counseling, family counseling, groups, and couples counseling. I have provided trainings in behavioral issues with children and learning how to develop healthy parent child relationships.

I have always had a passion for helping others. My philosophy is it takes a team effort to generate change. I will work with you collaboratively to develop goals in treatment to support your journey in improving your life and exploring new ways to manage conflict. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, motivational interviewing and client centered therapy. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. I will teach you how to challenge your old way of thinking to see situations in a better or alternative perspective. Arley has been amazing since the first session. I’ve seen her for about a month and she has helped me tremendously with my anxiety. She’s very open and welcoming and it’s very easy to talk to her about anything. I’ve applied what she has taught me to what I’m going though and things are looking up for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I am glad I was assigned to Arley because she is a great listener and even better at giving feedback. She has helped me through many aspects of my life in a short amount of time and I would recommend her to anyone that needs someone to talk to. At the beginning, I felt very helpless and angry, but I now have learned how to process my emotions in a healthy way and understand myself on a deeper level and I will always be grateful to her for that.
