Ashlea Palafox

(LCPC, BC-DMT, GL-CMA)

About Me

I have a unique set of skills as I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT). The body is at the center of our work together. Since 2014, I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in the inpatient medical setting, inpatient psychiatric setting, and outpatient setting. I work with clients on issues related to quality of life, mood and emotional regulation, trauma, body image, life transitions and relationship challenges.

I use a person-centered, strength-based approach when working with clients. I work within a compassionate, open, accepting, and loving environment where clients can connect to their grace, power, and inner light. Through self-renewing rituals, clients explore grounding, stillness, and presence.
I encourage the body and movement as a resource to tap into wisdom, hidden processes, and realizations within the "Self" - mind/body/spirit/soul. I help guide and navigate a client to become more deeply connected to support fuller expression, health, and vitality.

I have made tremendous progress since starting with Ashlea. She really understands and takes the time to process every detail if you need. I get excited to inform her of my progress, and I have gained more and more trust in her with every session! My family members notice the difference, and I feel much more optimistic about my future now. I love the convenience of being able to hide who I am, it helps to be more honest. Ashlea never judges, and I feel very cared about by her. She is available to answer messages throughout the week between sessions, and gives me things to work on and think about until our next session. She has been such a help, and is amazing to work with!

I have had a couple sessions with Ashlea and I am so glad I was connected with her! She is extremely knowledgeable and so caring. I feel comfortable being able to share so much with her and she makes the entire process so simple. The idea of scheduling and going through therapy always overwhelmed be but Ashlea and BetterHelp makes this process so easy while remaining effective.
