About me

Welcome!

It takes courage to identify areas of growth in life and even more so to take the steps towards making changes. My name is Ashleigh, and I am honored to be considered a part of your journey!

I am a South Carolina and Texas-based, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 5 years of experience working with children and adolescents experiencing challenges such as ASD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and eating disorders. I also specialize in working with young adults transitioning from college into the workforce who have trouble adjusting and struggling with anxiety. I have experience with military service members and families and working with them to help adjust to new duty stations.

My experience includes individual and group therapy in residential and outpatient settings. I have experience as the Lead therapist in a long-term residential facility for adolescents, as well as acute hospitalizations. I would describe my approach to therapy as integrative, in which I derive my approach from many theories in order to provide the best fit for my client. While I am primarily a behavioral-focused counselor, I derive many techniques from cognitive, humanistic and systemic approaches. The modalities I am trained in include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Family Systems approaches.

My goal as a therapist is not to solve your problems but help bring more awareness to your role in the challenges of life and help teach you skills to manage them, whether that be as an individual or as a family. I do this through the development of a strong therapeutic alliance that includes us as partners, working together to gain mutual trust, respect, honesty, communication and a strong commitment to put in the work necessary.

I hope that my approach and skills combined are a good fit for you and if you choose me I look forward to working together as a team.

Please schedule a live chat or video session under the schedule tab, as my availability fills up quickly.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ashleigh Gosnell. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I've had too many therapists over the years through various experiences; Ashleigh is more than productive. All she wants and does is work with you to further the progress you want to make and it works. I'm a forward person and would not take the time to write a review if I did not think one should be written. If you want to progress and are ready to, Ashleigh Gosnell is one of few who is prepared to take that journey with you.

She’s been a pillar of support for me especially in 2021 and I’m back again to get a little more guidance on how to deal with my mental health issues once again in 2022. She’s a great listener and she’s super responsive!:)

Ashleigh has great insight and always uses the short sessions productively. I look forward to our sessions and appreciate the simple homework assignment she assigns that I can complete even with a busy work and school schedule. She was the perfect match for my needs.

This is my first experience with starting therapy and I am so happy and pleased with my experience!! She is very responsive and flexible with various therapy sessions and really listens and understands me. Even when I don't know the direction I'm going in she is always there to support and help me process what I'm going through. I'm so happy I got lucky on my match with her as my therapist!
