About me

I am currently a counselor at a non-profit, inpatient residential treatment center in the state of Ohio. I work with dual diagnosis but have focused in areas such as; trauma, anxiety, anger management, depression, self-esteem, relationships (IPV), behavioral modification, and eating disorders. I facilitate many groups that focus in these areas and have created workbooks for those who struggle with anger management, binge-eating disorder, motivation, and intimate partner issues.

I prefer to work with therapies that promote people's strengths, focus on positive change, and teach one to become aware of the mind/body connection. Some therapies that have those qualities are DBT and EMDR. I am EMDR trained and would be able to do limited protocol with clients on the tele-platform.

I believe the therapeutic relationship to be one of the most important aspects in therapy. Therapy doesn't seem to work to its full potential without a good connection, honesty, transparency, or trust. I attempt to be authentic, transparent, and nonjudgmental in order to build a good connection. I truly want to know my clients and I want to help minimize that fear of judgment, shame or guilt. I am extremely passionate and dedicated to supporting others in their process of change. It's an amazing thing to watch others accomplish goals and be there to cheer-lead, support, and praise them during that process.

I'm going to leave you with a couple of my favorite quotes I have shared in some group sessions. Sometimes they are good food for the mind, body, and soul.
Awakening does not mean a change in difficulty, it means a change in how those difficulties are met.
It's not about perfect. It's about effort. When you bring that effort every single day, that is how and when change occurs.
