I grew up hearing things like, "therapy isn't for Black people" and "what happens in this house, stays in this house."
First of all, both of those statements are a lie. Second, while trust and privacy matter, not at the expense of your mental health.
Let's be real. Life be lifing. We all need support at different points in our lives, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for it.
You're probably showing up for everyone else. Your employer. Your children. Your partner. Your family. You're making sure everyone else is okay while quietly carrying the weight of your own experiences. But who's showing up for you? Who's holding space for you?
That's where I come in.
Sometimes, from the outside, it looks like you have it all together while internally you're struggling to keep your head above water. Maybe you've spent years surviving and have become so good at it that no one realizes you're hurting. Together, we'll identify the things that are weighing on you, unpack the trauma and triggers that continue to show up in your life, and learn practical ways to manage them so that you're not just surviving, but healing.
What sets me apart as a clinician is my ability to combine clinical expertise, cultural awareness, and genuine human connection. I provide a compassionate, strengths-based approach that honors each client's story, identity, and lived experience.
As a Black Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I understand the importance of creating spaces where clients feel seen, valued, and understood without having to explain or minimize their experiences.
My goal is not only to help you navigate life's challenges, but to help you reconnect with your strengths, build resilience, and recognize your own capacity for healing and growth. You do not have to carry it all by yourself.
