About me

Hello, my name is Ashley Meints, MA, LCPC. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based out of Illinois. I have worked with clients including children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I provide care for individuals of all race, cultures, spiritual background, or sexual orientation. I am passionate about helping people overcome whatever obstacle that keeps them from living their life to the fullest. Throughout life we all experience difficulties that lead to us feeling alone, overwhelmed, and defeated. Despite our best efforts sometimes overcoming those life circumstances by ourselves can be unsuccessful. My desire is to come alongside you and help you overcome those difficult life circumstances in a safe and supporting environment to get you back to living your best life. I know it isn't always easy taking the first steps of seeking help to work through struggles you are dealing with in life and I want to be able to provide the support and encouragement you need in this therapeutic process.

My therapeutic style and approach is very warm, interactive, and understanding. I feel that it is important to meet clients where they are at in their journey with mental health while at the same time challenging them to work towards the treatment goals that are best suited for the person. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, and person centered while integrating mindfulness approach as well. I combine compassion, humor, authenticity and acceptance to create a safe and inviting space where you are free to be uniquely yourself and work towards the changes in your life that you seek. I want to be able to help you through whatever difficulties you may be currently experiencing while also providing tools you can use in the future when life gets a little bumpy. I will modify our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I offer Live Chats, Video Sessions and Live Phone Sessions. If you are in need of an appointment sooner than my availability, please feel free to mention it to me on the boards and I can attempt to fit you in.

Reaching out for support is the first step in healing and also one of the hardest. This process can feel overwhelming and difficult. I am happy to walk this path of healing with you and look forward to speaking with you soon.

Ashley has been a great support and resource during a really trying time. She has listened to my concerns, made suggestions to facilitate tasks and include family members who live out of town, and asked questions that gave me a different perspective when I needed it. She's also been great about checking in with me when I've had to deviate from our scheduled sessions. Thanks to her help, I'm feeling much stronger than when I initially sought services from Better Help! Kudos to you for having her on your staff! Ashley is amazing!
