Ashley Riker, LMHC
About me
Hello!
My name is Ashley, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) practicing in Massachusetts. For the past 4 years, I have worked with individuals in crisis, families, and children. Focusing on trauma in graduate school led me to working with individuals who have gone through traumatic or upsetting events in their lives.
Whether you have a specific concern or situation you'd like to deal with, or you are at a point in your life where you're ready for change, a good therapist can help guide you to be more fulfilled, motivated and confident. Being ready for that change can be difficult and take time, but the first step, joining BetterHelp, is the biggest. From here on out, we go at your pace, and you lead the way. I am here to keep you on track, and offer insights to support self reflection.
My style of therapy is client centered and strengths based. In other words, each person is unique, and what works for one person might not work for another. Finding personal strengths and using those to help my clients grow is what I believe to be crucial to making meaningful change. I use a mix of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), in addition to just providing some unbiased, non-judgmental listening. Our partnership will be one of trust, mutual respect, and honesty.
I look forward to hearing from you!
