About Me

Good to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT) and I have been working in the counseling field since 2005. I've worked in a wide variety of settings, including private practice, residential treatment centers, colleges, and universities. I work with clients who are struggling with substance use and/or maintaining your sobriety, in addition to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and adjustment issues. I have significant experience working with nurses in recovery, and support nurses who are at risk of losing their license due to substance use.

I use a realistic, down to earth approach when working with clients. No psychoanalysis here! I do employ a solution focused approach, looking at how you have solved problems in the past, and tapping into your strengths and abilities to manage your current issues and concerns. I believe in your inherent wisdom and ability to cope, and I'm happy to support you as we find your solutions.

I am trained in working with couples, families, and individuals, and understand the importance of including and/or making use of your support system to assist you. I'm a relational therapist.

I respect my clients and your ability to ask for help. It's a difficult thing to do, but often, "I can't, but we can."

I look forward to talking with you!

Ashley is a welcome arm of support after I felt let down by other counselors, canceling appointments. Ashley takes on what I say and throughout the conversation she pays close attention. She is empathetic, caring and motivates me in a way that I can gain ground. I like her structured approach and I have made great progress. Ashley continues to support me through the week when I have questions. I would recommend her as she is reliable also.

It's only been two sessions but it's going great. I had a lot of doubts being paired with someone before speaking with them but I already feel like I am on a path to eventually getting better and developing tools to work on things.
