Dear Future Client,
Welcome and make yourself at home. Though this is an online platform, our chat space is yours to make yourself comfortable and at home. I truly hope you feel hopeful, safe, and warm as I believe those feelings are needed to support change and healing. If I can do anything to help create such an environment for you, please let me know.
I am a licensed professional counselor in the states of Texas and Colorado. I have my doctorate in Counselor Education, the terminal degree in the counseling field. I have over seven years of experience providing counseling and coaching services to individuals from the age of 6 to 80. I have worked with a wide variety of issues but am particularly drawn to helping people who are experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, anger issues, stress, life changes/adjustments, gender and sexuality exploration, relationship issues (familial and intimate partner), academic/career issues, and grief and loss.
My approach to counseling in primarily client-centered. Therefore, my primary goal is to ensure you feel heard, seen, and supported. I am very warm, welcoming, authentic, and flexible in my style as well. What I often tell my clients is that we will work together to meet their goals utilizing my knowledge of counseling and their knowledge of their life. As for other approaches I tend to implement with clients, I also tend to rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Whatever challenges you are encountering at this moment, there is hope. Things can get better. Things can change. You have more power than you realize. I look forward to working with you as you gain the empowerment, knowledge, and skills required to move through those challenges.
On one final note, if you choose to become my client, I do my absolute best to respond to your request to work with me as soon as possible. Please allow me between 3 - 14 hours to respond initially. However, I do understand that it can be difficult because you are looking forward to getting started! Know I will respond as quickly as I am able. You can send me a message here at any time and as often as you want, though I typically respond to messages every other day, sometimes more or less depending on my schedule. I will also keep you updated as much as possible regarding my ability to respond to your messages, and schedule live chats, calls, or video sessions. I encourage you to schedule a live session (phone call, video session or live chat) with me on the Schedule section.
Short to moderate messages (length wise) : 1-3 responses per week
Long and extra long messages: 1 response every two to three weeks
You can see what's available in the scheduling tab. If we're primarily messaging but you'd like more from the experience I'd advise you to schedule a session or let me know you'd like to schedule one. Though it's totally okay if you'd like to only message.

Dr. Streeter is a kind, compassionate, thoughtful, hard working, dedicated, insightful, and knowledgeable therapist who is unlike any I have previously worked with. She listens without judgment, but more importantly, truly makes you feel heard. Dr. Streeter has offered many tools, techniques, and literature to help me in my healing journey and I am so grateful to have her helping me. I cannot say enough good things about her and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who needs an exceptional therapist.
In my first session with Dr. Ashley she helped me discover some of the reasons I have anxiety about my relationships and my future. I'm excited to keep working with her to understand more about where my anxiety comes from and health ways to process it.
Dr. Streeter listens to my concerns no matter how big or small, and helps see situations from other perspectives. They always provide additional resources for me to research, or suggestions on ways for me to practice being more aware, unlearning behaviors that no longer serve me, and reinforcing new behavioral goals. I highly recommend Dr. Streeter!!
Dr. Streeter is amazing. She listens so well and without judgement. She makes you feel heard and helps you to figure out what the root of your problems are. She is a life saver
Dr. Streeter has been amazing. I appreciate all her insight and support. Highly recommend!
Dr. Streeter is so understanding and kind. I love working with her and look forward to many more sessions in the future ☺️
Dr. Ashley Streeter has been my counselor since day 1 on here & I really can't say how happy I am to have her. She asked me what usually worked for me since I have had therapy in the past & she applied everything that worked for me and some new things. She always sends me a response when I write her and has been a lifesaver when I was at my worst. She sends me follow up links to exercises that we discuss and checks in with reading material if I go MIA for a while. It's nice having someone like Dr. Streeter in my corner. She feels like a friend that has been in my life forever but with professional and constructive ways of dealing with my problems. I've been working with her for almost 4 months and don't plan to stop.
Dr. Streeter has always listened to me with an open mind. Never has she judged or me or crossed a line, I feel very open which is a nice change of pace. One of the best decisions I made was to use this site and stick with Dr. Streeter. I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been mentally.
Dr. Streeter has been instrumental in helping me begin to cope with my long-standing struggles with anxiety and feelings of hopelessness. She is professional and responsive. I am grateful for her expertise and the compassion she has shown to me.
Dr. Steeter was a great fit for me. She listened non-judgmentally and helped me accomplish my goals. I feel like I am in a great place.
Dr. Streeter and I are a good fit and I’m very lucky to have chosen her. She’s almost always available and always listens to me. I feel she is highly intelligent in her field and I learn from her everyday.
In just two weeks of working with Dr. Streeter, I am already seeing progress in myself. She listens, understands, and puts my feelings into words to help me understand.
Dr. Streeter makes me feel as if she really cares about my life and how my mental health effects it. She is my 3rd counselor on BetterHelp but most definitely the best I've had experiences with. She actually seems to remember our conversations and seems to have put thought into my problems. She also goes the extra mile when it comes to messaging and following up on topics. She is amazing.
Ashley is very compassionate, smart, and has good insights. I think that she has gotten a very good understanding of who I am very quickly.
Dr. Streeter is absolutely wonderful. I’ve never had any sort of counseling before, and she’s is more than I could ever ask for. She’s helped me through a lot of tough situations, and encourages the positives in my life. I’m truly thankful for meeting Dr. Streeter!
Dr. Streeter is extremely supportive, and can help you to take measured steps towards achieving your goals. She is willing to take the time to listen, and is genuinely interested in your concerns. She shares and explains her knowledge in a way that is easy to understand, and gives practical suggestions to implement it. I feel fortunate to have her support!
Working with Dr Streeter has been incredibly helpful to me. She is a great listener - someone who actually deeply hears me and responds to what I have to say. She is thoughtful, kind, compassionate, and wise. Her empathy is great and her words really resonate with me and my experience. She is patient and organized, and always responds in a very reasonable amount of time to my messages. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
