About me

I am a professional counselor licensed in the state of Texas with over 18 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns as well as diagnosis. Over the past 15 plus years in private practice I have enjoyed working with the military community and lifestyle; anxiety and depression; medical conditions that affect our mental health; pre and post bariatric patients; womens issues; relational issues, and recently those who suffer from the effects of this pandemic. My therapy style is assertive, interactive and realistic. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I believe therapy is a process that clients internalize as their own, and learn to trust with my help.
As humans we are faced with challenges and changes in all of life experiences. While change is something we seek in many things, it is often something we resist. As a a therapist who utilizes several modalities such as CBT, Solution focused and Rational emotive therapy I strive to help patients grow, understand and advocate for their overall health and well being. My focus and interest is to help educate patients on what affects them and increase their coping skills to manage life better. Their adventure to understand who they are and what they choose to respond or react to, from nutrition; to movement; the love they seek or to decrease the limits they place on having a relationship with themself are just a few of the baselines that I aim to help them set.
To confront anxiety, depression, life changing circumstances, mental and physical health issues takes tremendous courage and hard work; therefore anyone having access and taking the time to enter this process is respected and nurtured as they open themselves up to find resilience in small and manageable bites. It is the courage that you take to seek a more fulfilling and happier life that are the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take those steps then I am here to support and help you find what empowers you to being a better you. I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Attalie Santiago. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

From the first session, Attalie approached my complicated life with kindness and understanding. She asked the right questions to see what I wanted to focus on and was able to pinpoint things I didnt even realize were there. Attalie listens with empathy to help me tackle topics from medical issues, family issues, drug use, social anxiety, and more. She is the first therapist to make me feel truly listened to and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking help

Written on Jun 13, 2022 after therapy with Attalie for 2 weeks on issues concerning relationship issues, family conflicts, eating disorders, self esteem, and adhd
