About me

My name is Aubrey Bassham-Schaefer (she/her). Congratulations on seeking therapy - that's a journey in itself, and you've made it! So many of us are experiencing pain, sadness, anxiety, or conflict in our journey right now. Maybe you’re feeling sadness and emptiness, or can’t remember the last time you smiled. Maybe you are having panic attacks, fights with your loved ones, or experiencing a loss of purpose. Perhaps you’ve picked up an unhealthy way of coping, or your usual go-to’s just aren’t working anymore. You are not alone! I am here to walk this journey with you, to help you find your peace, navigate healing, and create the joyful life and inner world you deserve. I believe we are the experts in our own growth, and that everyone is capable of healing. My style is warm, friendly, and very interactive. I enjoy using humor when its appropriate, and getting to know my clients really well. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship where you can heal, explore, and thrive.

I hold a Master of Social Work degree from New Mexico State University, and I am a Licensed Board Certified Clinical Social Worker with the New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners. I also hold specific Certification in Tele-Mental Health (CTMH). I provide therapy services to all ages, with a focus on trauma-informed, person-centered, strength-based care. I have had the unique and incredible privilege to work with people experiencing Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Family Issues, and the “growing pains” we experience on our journey. I have also worked with children and teens with Autism, ADHD, and developmental disabilities. I am available for live sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM MST and Wednesday evenings until 7:00 PM MST.

I have only been with Aubrey for a short while, but in that short time she's helped me become more comfortable with therapy by being patient and listening in a nonjudgemental way. In just a few sessions with Aubrey I've felt like a stronger person. Thank you Aubrey!

From day one I connected with Aubrey. She has a very welcoming personality and it shows through during our sessions. I've been able to begin healing from recent traumas, and I feel very safe with Aubrey, I feel with her guidance and encouragement I'm able to overcome my fears. I've already told my loved ones/coworkers about how much I love my sessions with Aubrey.
