Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I graduated in 2006 with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in Fort Bliss, Texas. I consider it a great honor when others come to me with their challenges in life. I enjoy what I do immensely. It is because of this, I continually pursue workshops and trainings, to further my skills and knowledge. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-Processing Technique, Sand-Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and of course my favorite Hypnosis.
I have provided therapy to individuals of all backgrounds and occupations. Having worked as a Program Manager for the Crisis Intervention Team within the Police Department, I am very familiar with providing therapeutic assistance to our first responders as well as their children, (police officers, security guards, physicians, nurses, medical personnel, paramedics, firefighters, transportation and delivery personnel ) suffering from severe stress. Due to the current world situation and the uncertainty around us, it is not uncommon for all of us to be experiencing some anxiety and depression as well as grief for the many losses in our lives: loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of a way of life that may never be the same again. Utilizing my personal experience of loss, coupled with my educational background and training, together, we can navigate through these transitions in life.
I have also worked at a psychiatric unit, providing treatment to patients who have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, and Major Depression during their inpatient stay and immediately after discharge. Are you going thru a difficult time and feeling detached from others? There is no need for you to walk down this path alone. Let me help you with life's challenges. Together we can work towards solutions and improve your quality of life.
I am also pursing my MBA in Healthcare. This gives me an opportunity to experience first-hand the stressors that come along with pursuing a college education. The stress of homework and the school-life-work balance.
