About Me

Hello and welcome! I am Austin Gonzalez, a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan. I graduated from Grand Valley State University for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. I have more than six years of experience working in counseling; I specialize in trauma and utilize techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Mindfulness. I have worked in both the community mental health and private practice settings, which has provided me with a range of experience working with people from various backgrounds.

My practice involves building a trusting and open relationship with you to provide support through times of stress, uncertainty, sadness and anger. I will work alongside you to help you navigate these difficult times and to provide you with tools to cope with life's troubles. Common concerns I help address include anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues and traumatic experiences.

Outside of therapy, I am an avid runner and enjoy time spent outside with my dog. I love cooking and exploring new cuisine.

I look forward to our time spent together and walking alongside you during this journey.

Austin is very kind and patient. She always made me feel that my issues were real and important and guided me to solving them. Her genuine care made me feel comfortable enough to share my thoughts openly without judgement. I can say now that my relationships with negative people have completely changed as she gave me the tools and techniques to advocate for myself and put my well being first. I'd recommend her to everyone she's helpful and kind.
