Axel Cristales, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 4 years of psychotherapy experience. I gained the majority of my early clinician experience at domestic abuse center where I counseled survivors of domestic abuse, both children and adults. My work experience as an educator, specifically in low-socioeconomic public schools, allowed me to connect with individuals dealing with various issues, such as depression and anxiety, behavioral concerns, self-esteem issues. Currently, I work in private practice where I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment, and where empathy and care is an important tool I use to ensure clients obtain a feeling of self-realization which is an important step in discovering a more fulfilling and happier life. My life experiences have instilled in me a passion to help individuals discover how to value their strengths and gain a balanced and healthy perspective. I am also bilingual and can provide therapy services in Spanish.

Axel has been an amazing support person for me during my current life challenges and has helped me bring myself out again without feeling guilty about it. It is not easy making a connection with a therapist, and I have been through many, so when I get that connection and mutual respect, I'll hold onto it.

Axel is an excellent listener. There can be a lot to unpack and he hears it, listens, and questions where he needs to.

I like that Axel listens and gives feedback. My favorite part is that I can express myself in Spanish and English and he is able to support me with the right words. I like that Axel brings previous conversations and also asks about other areas that I oversee.

Had my first session with Axel a few days ago. He was a great listener, I felt as though I was able to say everything I wanted to and he was patient and just interactive enough to make me feel as though I was able to express my problems and concerns without interruption. I’m looking forward to our future sessions.
